Designing the “Players Mindset Workbook”

I was tasked to design two editions of the “More Than Basketball” workbook for youth basketball players, created by Elite Athletes. These workbooks are a valuable tool, crafted specifically to support young athletes in developing self-awareness, cultivating positive long-term habits, and building mental resilience on the court.

Each workbook contains around 40 pages filled with insightful exercises and reflections designed to complement practical basketball training. Topics covered include:

  • Taking responsibility versus learned helplessness

  • Effective communication styles

  • Impact of posture, movement, and breathing on mindset

  • Creating a positive practice culture

  • Managing internal dialogue and performance under pressure

  • Tools to shift mood during play

  • Tips for improved joint health and better sleep

  • Daily self-analysis activities

Elite Athletes, co-founded by Olivier Goetgeluck, is renowned for integrating psychophysical health techniques into sports training. Olivier brings extensive experience from his involvement with innovative platforms like Fighting Monkey, focusing on enhancing athletes’ physical coordination, breathing techniques, and mental strength.
